We want you to love your journal. If something's not right, here's how we handle returns and refunds.
Damaged or Defective Items
If your journal arrives damaged or there's something wrong with it, we absolutely want to make it right.
What to do:
Contact us at kate@themagneticmethod.com within 7 days of receiving your order
Include your order number and photos showing the damage or defect
We'll arrange a replacement or full refund - your choice
Wrong Item Sent
If we sent you the wrong item or the wrong colour, that's completely our mistake.
What to do:
Email kate@themagneticmethod.com within 7 days with your order number
We'll send you the correct item immediately
We'll arrange return of the incorrect item at no cost to you
Missing Items
If something's missing from your order:
What to do:
Contact us at kate@themagneticmethod.com within 7 days
Include your order number and what's missing
We'll send the missing item right away or refund you for it - whichever you prefer
What We Cannot Accept
Change of Mind Returns
Due to the personal and intimate nature of journaling, we cannot accept returns for change of mind - even if the journal is unopened.
We encourage you to read the product description, reviews, and FAQs carefully before purchasing. If you have any questions about whether this journal is right for you, please email kate@themagneticmethod.com before ordering.
Other Non-Returnable Items:

Exchanges
Want to swap your ‘Cacao’ journal for ‘Sand’, or vice versa?
We can only offer exchanges in these circumstances:
The journal arrives damaged or defective
We sent you the wrong colour by mistake
Exchanges for colour preference when the correct item was delivered are not available. Please choose your preferred colour carefully when ordering.
Refund Processing
Timeline
Once we receive your returned item and confirm it meets our return policy requirements:
We'll process your refund within 5–7 business days
Refunds are issued to your original payment method
It may take an additional 5–10 business days for the refund to appear in your account, depending on your bank or card issuer

Product price (for eligible returns only)
Original shipping costs (only if return is due to our error)
Return shipping costs (only if return is due to our error)
You'll receive an email confirmation once your refund has been processed.
International Returns
The same return policy applies to international orders, with these additional considerations:
Return Shipping:
If the return is due to our error (damaged, defective, or wrong item), we'll cover return shipping costs or provide a prepaid label where possible.
Customs:
Any customs fees paid on the original shipment are non-refundable and are between you and your customs office.
Processing:
International returns may take longer to process due to shipping times.
Gift Returns
If someone gifted you a journal and it arrives damaged, defective, or is the wrong item:

The same return policy applies
Refund will go back to the original purchaser's payment method, or we can issue store credit

We cannot accept gift returns for change of mind.
Cancellations
Before Shipping
If you need to cancel your order before it ships:
Contact us immediately at kate@themagneticmethod.com
If we haven't processed and dispatched your order yet, we'll cancel it and issue a full refund
Once an order has been dispatched, our standard return policy applies (defective/damaged items only)
After Shipping
Once your order has shipped, we cannot accept cancellations. Our return policy for damaged or defective items will apply once you receive your order.
Faulty or Damaged Items - Your Rights
Australian Consumer Law:
If you're in Australia, our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
Other Jurisdictions:
Your statutory rights under local consumer protection laws are not affected by this returns policy.
